I know my insistence on quoting Che is rankling some folks.
Not as many as it would've a few months back though.
Overton window and all.
Here's another, which might be taken to heart, after contemplation. It came after a frustrating trip and failed revolution in Africa.
"We can't liberate by ourselves a country that does not want to fight."
I posted the same quote over at a WRSA post.
I am, you are, "we" are surrounded by “countrymen” who WANT MORE of what we have now,
who are fat and lazy, concerned mainly with the next cool consumer
electronics releases, decadent perversions called “entertainment”, and
what is going on with the latest misadventures of
what’s-her-face-who-obviously-had-no-father-figure-in-her-life.
Those folks Mike mentioned in the Sipsey Street article did not want to lose their independence. Too many Americans beg to be given the chance to hand theirs over.
So why do I put myself through vomit-inducing PT 6 days a week?
Why do I spend time and money on ammo, shooting, handloading, and dry firing?
Why do I spend a large percentage of my discretionary income on "preparing" for hard times in the future?
I will continue to train and prepare, not because I expect to join some mass
popular resistance, but because...
I am a husband and father.
I will train
so that when I die...
I will have amply and richly deserved it.
Resist.

Keep on quoting Che. I don't care where truth comes from, as long as it's truth. I'm thinking about reading the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital, though I got a good laugh the first time Amazon.com sent me an email suggesting I buy the Communist Manifesto next. So did my wife. Then she warned me she'd divorce me if I became a communist. I married well, clearly.
ReplyDeleteTAP well said. I really can't say it any better. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYour quoting of Che doesn't bother me in the least.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to have to learn things from EVERYONE in order to survive the upcoming hard times. Take the good that you can get from everyone, and leave the bad. Its up to you to decide what was good and what was bad. I think Che did have some good quotes. I strongly disagree with him on some other things, though. Learn what you can, while you still can from everyone. Knowledge IS Power.
