Onto Liberty: Preparing for War

Onto Liberty points to several more indicators in the rising crescendo of war drums across the world.

The most pro-American, pro-Israel, pro-Iran, pro-Russian, pro-human thing people can do right now is hope and pray for peace.

This thing could blow over, it could be a quick and acute series of strikes with limited responses, or it could get supremely ugly, and quick.

It is only human arrogance that makes us think we can control where the spark goes, once lit.

There are folks who think that stance against a war on Iran is similar to the weakness of the "appeasers" in the pre-WW2 era, although the differences are many, and not controlling another sovereign nation's internal programs does not, in my opinion, constitute appeasement.  For those folks, and other liberty/historical minded people, I would ask a few questions, since thinking is not my forte...

1.) In what specific way(s) does the "pro-war on Iran" case differ from the vanity, pride, and arrogance that plunged the world into World War One?

2.)  In what specific way(s) does the "our way or the highway" approach taken by the "pro-war on Iran" crowd differ from that which brought upon the world the "Treaty of Versailles", a document and instrument of forced subjugation that ensured the future conditions that would lead to a second European "World War"?

3.)  In what specific way(s) does US/Israeli policy concerning Iran not represent the exact same arguments used by anti-gun rights groups here in the US?

  1. All 3 can be answered by your media educated commentor.
The TV made me do it. It is god, therefore I shall obey. Along with the tens of millions of other non thinking proles, who never study or question anything they are told. It's tooo hard to think, let alone read some history, just like homework!
Everyone wants life to be a no brainer, which leads us to TV and mainstream media. Education thru Fox. Which then leads us to our war dept., also run by the same folks. Folks choose to stay proles, with help from the MSM. All hail TV!!!

  2. Regarding the Treaty of Versailles as compared with the behavior of our current officials, it seems that a) the war that 'justified' such punitive measures hasn't actually happened yet and b) none of the high-minded pretense that carried the US into Great War (the Fourteen Points) is in evidence here. With all the pretense of containing communism or defending liberty shot to Hell, we're left with is bald-faced belligerence and a fight over resources. It's Mad Max, not The Alamo.

Please, by all means, speak your mind. Try to keep the profanity and vulgarity down to the necessary minimum.

Discussion, debate, dissent- these are good things.

I also welcome comments from Anti-Liberty Extremists as well.
