Re: Duels and Flame Wars

In response to the latest flame war to erupt:

I'm not linking to the posts or sites, which contain enough vomit in the form of comments to completely and irrevocably drive away any thinking man from this "community" forever.

People, we are a largely ignored, esoteric community floating about in cyberspace.   That's it.  Some of our sites are watched by the enemy, but we are not a threat.  They know it.

The enemies of liberty have not even begun to seriously try to disrupt our “community”.

No need.  We’re doing it for free.

I must admit to not having followed most of the CPX Foxtrot comments at WRSA, nor have I been to Sipsey much to see the festivities.

One visit to each site some days ago, and one today, was enough.

I refuse to be drawn into this.

I do not agree with Mike 100% in everything he says, nor do I agree with Kerodin 100% in everything he says.

The originator of this latest round of poo flinging is very clear, though.   We can argue about it, but the time stamps do not lie.  I won't include links.

Scratch that.  I won't argue about it.

I am on speaking terms with both men.  I have respect for both, and see glaring inconsistencies with some of both men’s ideas, as I am sure they do with mine.

I am aware well of the issues involved in this debate, going all the way back to its beginning.  On and on.  There’s even been talk at Sipsey of a “duel” (not, as far as I can see, mentioned by Mike or Kerodin), complete with stand-ins and sniping (ironically, that's the murder of an American citizen, btw) from "800 yards".  There have been accusations of both working as a provocateur, and comparisons to of Kerodin to Stalin.  The comments have been far more ridiculous than the original arguments.

It's all provocateur-ish, and Stalin-esque, if you ask me.  Stalin was an expert at dividing his underlings and opposition through many of the same mechanisms in play in this stupid internet flame war.

Come on.  Really.

Here is my last and final response on this divisiveness that has erupted occasionally every few months to disrupt the community.

This nation is headed for Marxism, people.  Our nation, our culture, our liberty, our children are in danger.

Do you give a damn?

Do you understand what Marxism is, and the evil it has in store for us?  Do you understand how stupid and pale internet flame wars are in comparison?

Do you have nothing better to do?  PT done?  Kids taught and hugged?  Mind sharpened?  Body hard?  Marksmanship up to par?  Spiritual considerations squared away?

Our nation is being driven towards another interventionist war on the one hand, and collapse and internal strife on the other.

Do you have any idea of the misery and pain that is coming?

Occupy and other Marxists are on the streets and moving.  Right Now.

Right Now.

I don’t have time for this.

Until some sort of two-way gentleman’s agreement on this subject is reached in the community as a whole, I am shuttering this blog.

Of course, I realize some of you may want exactly that.  I know some of you want that.

You all do what you want.  I am not trying to impose my will on anyone, I am not taking sides; I am simply withdrawing my consent.  Am I in the wrong?  Don't know.  Don't care.

I will not stop working the projects I have begun, and I am not "laying down my arms".   I just don't see the point of trying to build an internet-based community that resembles AR-15.com.  I can go to AR-15.com for that.

Email and the contact forms will remain open.

I will not be part of this.  Someone email me when this is over.

Or not.

Whatever.

That is all.

It's About People, Not Laws

If you still believe that there is a First Amendment, I encourage you to consider this bill.

Less than two months ago, the president approved the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, essentially suspending habeas corpus from American citizens. Could the next order out of the Executive Branch be revoking some of the Bill of Rights? Only if you consider the part about being able to assemble a staple of the First Amendment, really. Don’t worry, though. Obama was, after all, a constitutional law professor. When he signed the NDAA on December 31, he accompanied his signature with a signing statement that let Americans know that, just because he authorized the indefinite detention of Americans didn’t mean he thought it was right.
Should President Obama suspend the right to assemble, Americans might expect another apology to accompany it in which the commander-in-chief condemns the very act he authorizes. If you disagree with such a decision, however, don’t take it to the White House. Sixteen-hundred Pennsylvania Avenue and the vicinity is, of course, covered under this act.
I think that one downfall of the American people, as well as the "patriot"/"militia" movement, is that it keeps threatening to fight the enemies of liberty, and is just waiting to pounce on the "first blatant Constitutional usurpation" it sees.

That's downright laughable.  Clear, unmistakable, etched-in-concrete constitutional lines are violated with increasing regularity and impunity.

An indirect point is that Patriots seem to be fixated on the violation of laws, rather than the violation of people.  Laws and Constitutions are means, not ends.

The TSA still violates our nation's women and children, and the Fourth Amendment, everyday.  The violation of the Fourth is less concerning to me than the violation of women and children.

The bill I linked clearly and unmistakably violates the First.  The violation of the First Amendment is less concerning to me than is the attempt to entrench a protected-class American aristocracy, shielded from the unwashed masses by a dutiful and well-rewarded Praetorian class.

I don't really give two damns about which clauses of a law are violated.  I really could not care less about which -largely meaningless and easily circumvented- "Amendments" are violated.  Laws and Amendments are meant to serve the people, not to be ends in themselves.

My people are being violated.  That is what angers me.

I will intentionally not conclude this short post.

Come to your own conclusions.

The Road to War- The US is Warned Off / Handed Plausible Deniability

Here is a Zero Hedge piece in which we are told the Israel "won't let us know" if they plan on launching a pre-emptive strike on Iran.

If you're easily offended by sarcasm or hostility towards Israel, avert your eyes and virtual "ears".

There might be some to follow.

Keep in mind that I think it is normal and natural for a nation -especially a racially homogenous one like Israel, where "race" and "nation" are largely one and the same- to seek its own national security and safety.  It is natural for a race, a nation, a people, to seek their own advancement.  This is nature.

While I go on and on here about Israel, what I am really doing is venting my rage toward my government for letting my nation be used as the tool of another nation, another people.  I do not, at the most basic level, fault Israel for playing the US like a Fiddle.  I do not, in the end, fault them for seeking their own security at the expense of another.  This is unfair, it is parasitical, but nature is not fair, nor does she discriminate against the parasite. I fault the US for letting it happen.

One day, Israel might be forced to face "market forces", so to speak, in the realm of international relations, without "interventionist measures" and "bailouts".

Having said all that, there are a few points I'd like to put out there, in relation to the Zero Hedge piece.-

1.)  This is the United States Government you're talking about.  We have the entirefreakingplanet under surveillance.  No planes, if we were attentive, would enter Iranian airspace without us knowing it.  If we were paying attention.

2.)  Given 1.) from above, I am forced to conclude that what this means is that Israel, when it launches a "preemptive" strike (read-war of aggression) against Iran, is going to publicly say that they didn't tell the US about it so that our nation's leaders can continue to dump billions of dollars into their country's coffers, all the while pretending to be upset with little Israel.

3.) These folks can speak to the loyalty Israel shows us in these types of encounters.  Oh no, wait.  Some of them can.  The American servicemen who were killed can't.
"How dare the USS Liberty try to monitor Israeli communications!  Bad United States!  Bad!  Hey, I know, let's kill some Americans, sink their ship, and machine gun their lifeboats (violating international law) so there are no survivors!  Then we can blame it on Egypt and get more money from the US!"
 A quote from Zero Hedge-
Needless to say, the thoroughly effete and comical US foreign policy has no response to follow up queries: "The White House did not respond to requests for comment, and the Pentagon and Office of Director of National Intelligence declined to comment, as did the Israeli Embassy." And while there may be no comments here, look for more warnings about Israeli citizens being targetted by deranged Iranian around the world. Because when all else fails, fearmonger. Next up: the Status Quo will be telling the world how not attacking Iran would be tantamount to global destruction. The only trade off - will the spike in crude to $150 outdo the surge in Obama's popularity rating as the Nobel Peace Prize winner puts his name in the hat for a nomination in the Nobel War Prize category as well.
A war is being cooked up, before your eyes.  The US is being given, at best, a "plausible deniability" out.  More likely, they are being told, "You will avert your eyes while we do this."  Of course, if and when a counter-attack occurs, Israel will play Anglo-Europe Holocaust guilt and scream "Holocaust!  Holocaust!" until American lives and blood are paid to secure Israel's aims and safety.

I do not think this economy can withstand what this war will bring.

- When Saddam went to retake Kuwait (land that had belonged to it not long before), the US attacked.

- The US attacked Afghanistan purportedly over its harboring of and support for Al-Qaeda.  You know, those folks we're supporting in Syria, and the ones we backed in Libya...

- The US attacked Iraq because...wait...did we ever get the story straight on the "Why" of that one?

The US will do nothing if Israel attacks Iran.

That's a shame.  Given the threat that an attack on Iran will be to our national security, one could make the case, using pre-emptive strike logic, for a pre-emptive strike on Israel.

If you can watch events unfolding and wonder why other nations hate Israel, you have a skill I do not.

If you can watch the US continue to give billions to Israel, along with military support, and think of the Middle East- "they hate us 'cuz we're free", your blinders should be taken off.  Just for a second.

I laugh at Greece's cries for sovereignty, as billions are poured into it by nations to keep it afloat.  You can't take others' money and not expect strings.  Greece cannot expect Europe (Germany and France) to fix her screw ups without preconditions.  To be independent, you have to be, well, independent.

Unless you're Israel.  Then you can take the money and pull the strings.

'Specially in an election year.

Otherwise, the "H"-"bomb" (so to speak-not the nuke-) will be brought out and used.

And we can't have that.

Edit-  Personally?  I say ordnance is impacting Iranian soil NLT the end of March.  There will be a counter-attack, and the US will step in at that time.

The Iran war will be a disaster for the US and Israel in the long run.

While I'm busy at my crystal ball, Obama will win in November, and gas prices hit record highs this year, whether or not we invade/attack Iran.

Off to the gym, now.

Actually, well, off to the basement.  No sense in paying to go to a gym to wait in line for fancy machines or to watch a bunch of pretty boys look at themselves in the mirror...

I'm more interested in self-inflicted pain.

Go too far today.  And again tomorrow.

Leveraging Hate for Votes in 2012

What does overcoming slavery (:22-23) have to do with Obama's re-election in 2012?

Didn't think we'd miss that, did you?

I'll tell you what-

Race-baiting and leveraging racial animosity for a vote.

*Spits*

A lowlife like this does not deserve to be a janitor at the US' White House, much less the president.

What would happen if Ron Paul ran an ad rallying white people to his cause?

(I do not much care what Obama does, to tell you the truth.  It is a law of nature that each race will tend to take care of its own.  I really don't care whether blacks do it, and I don't care if whites do it.  It's just fun to point out the hypocrisy.  I am proud of my race, and my children will be, too.  Everyone should take pride in his or her race...and be allowed to do so, guilt-free.)

H/T Here.

Word Verification Back On

Word Verification is being turned back on for comments.

I wanted to keep it off to provide commenters with an easier time, but you wouldn't believe the spam CRAP I've received in the comments.

Sorry, folks.  I'm not putting up with the robo-spam.

Letting States Decide Election Law is Wacist!

Unconstitutional provisions of the voting rights act are being scrutinized on a high level.

It's about time that states -all states- be allowed to change and decide election law without a FedGov permission slip.  This Federal shackle needs to be taken off Southern states.

But wait!  What about the wacists who will insist that people should prove their identity before voting???

Blacks and other minorities won't be allowed to vote!

The sky will fall, and before you know it, we'll be buying slave galleys once again!

The implication in this paragraph is sickening, and indicative.
Cuz' without political power, and government guns, evil white man will quickly and inevitably move to not let the black man vote.

That's what he's saying.  That's exactly what he's saying.  What a tool.

Cuz White people are evil.

Even though white American gave black American the right to vote decades before white woman American was allowed to vote.

Stuff it.

I agree with Holder, though.  America is a nation of racist cowards.   "Civil Rights" "Leaders" wouldn't dare discuss the subject with a competent debater.  They're quick to call out "racism" from behind a one-way pulpit or microphone, and suppress all dissenting viewpoints, no matter how objective, with "racism", and "hate".

Thus guaranteeing the cycle to continue.

Racism!  It's everywhere!  Everyday!  All over!  This video is PROOF!!! (Seriously, watch this video!)

Some Thoughts

I was considering launching into a diatribe over the toxicity that has surfaced over at WRSA and other places concerning CPX Foxtrot.

I won't though, because the CPX is working exactly as intended, IMO.  All of that "discussion" it has generated is right on.  Good data.

It's quite instructive, IMO, and the "conversation" illustrates exactly why we're screwed, from the inability to read through it, to the assumptions, to the just general nastiness and venom that has arisen.

I'd would venture to say that CPX Foxtrot has reached the right audience, both in FreeFor and elsewhere, and that it has stirred exactly the right pots.  The next one will be better, I bet.  That's the purpose of exercises, training, and such.

Or maybe we can just sit back and utter imprecations and half threats and buy more useless GI castoff junk to reassure ourselves that we're "doing something".

Then I was going to launch into a flame war over this idiocy.

*expletive*

*Spits*

We all have pasts.

Get over it.

After spending the night working chest and triceps, helping out an eight year old with grammar, being "snow-snaked" by my kids upon arrival at home from work, being enthralled by the iridescent beauty of my wife's face and hair in the sun, finishing a birthday cake (that was late, and a disaster, btw), explaining to my boys (and showing them) the operation of a black powder revolver, I sat down to check emails, comments, and the blogosphere before finishing two of my college papers.

Then I realized something.

There's not enough time for this crap.

Not enough at all.

So, in short, I could care less about whether half the "community" thinks CPX Foxtrot is a waste.  I could care less about Kerodin's real, past, and in the open conviction, or about the former life of former communists who -by admission- committed violent felonies against American citizens while cheering the advance of Marxism and the victory of people who killed -and were killed by- my kin.

-   Kerodin is my friend.  I stand by him fully.  Full stop.  End of discussion.

-   Mike was at one point instrumental in bringing me to where I am today, for good or bad.  End of story.

-   I support CPX Foxtrot 110%, and will push and support the next one (when/if it is released) as well.  Period.

That's where I stand.  I just don't have time for this stuff.

My society is falling apart, and I will be soon giving this broken mess to my children.

My nation is falling apart, and soon it will belong, in all of its fallen glory, to my children.

Right now, forces are pressing for a war that may end up engulfing my children.

This world, every day, grows into a more dangerous place into which my precious and tiny wife must venture.

Every force in this world is desperately trying to destroy my family, my ability to provide for them, trying to take our liberties, render obsolete our values, control our futures, re-order our world.

I tell you what, rightfreakingnow.

I'm a father and a man, and I intend to fight it.

Maybe my obsession with PT and disciplining my body is in vain.
Maybe my obsession with weapons training is for naught.
Maybe my insistence on scanning for physical, emotional, and spiritual threats to my family at all times borders on paranoia.
Maybe my constant learning, thinking, and reasoning around freedom, liberty, security, culture, and nation is for nothing.
Maybe all of this is in vain.

All right then.  It's in vain.

Get up.  Back in the fight.

Nonetheless.

I will go down fighting.   Spiritually, physically, whatever.

I will not, as far as I am able, shame my wife.  My boys will not see their father silenced or beaten without a struggle.  I will not teach my daughters, through my example, to look for a husband and a man to provide for them who will bow to his enemies.

I must live for my family.  I intend on being worthy of them.

We all die.  I intend to deserve it.

So will my sons and daughters.

Forever.

I promise.

So, yeah, I don't have time to wade into the latest melee(s) swinging.

Neither should you, unless it's just for fun...

It's 11:30, and I have a few hours of work left tonight.  Goodnight.

Winter is coming.

"Fingers of Instability"

"To trace something unknown back to something known is alleviating, soothing, gratifying and gives moreover a feeling of power. Danger, disquiet, anxiety attend the unknown – the first instinct is to eliminate these distressing states. First principle: any explanation is better than none... The cause-creating drive is thus conditioned and excited by the feeling of fear..." Friedrich Nietzsche
Here's a good piece entitled "Fingers of Instability".
It's worth a read.  Here's a section of it, followed by another on how all this might pertain to us today.
"In this simplified setting of the sand pile, the power law also points to something else: the surprising conclusion that even the greatest of events have no special or exceptional causes. After all, every avalanche large or small starts out the same way, when a single grain falls and makes the pile just slightly too steep at one point. What makes one avalanche much larger than another has nothing to do with its original cause, and nothing to do with some special situation in the pile just before it starts. Rather, it has to do with the perpetually unstable organization of the critical state, which makes it always possible for the next grain to trigger an avalanche of any size."

Money quote, as it pertains to our society?  These, in my opinion:
There is a truism that goes a little like, "If something can't happen, then it won't." Let me make a prediction. We won't have a trillion-dollar deficit in ten years. Why? Because it can't happen. The market will simply not allow it.
...
That investor in St. Louis, or China or (????) will decide not to buy government debt at such low rates. The avalanche will start. And everyone will be surprised at the ferocity of the crisis. Except you, gentle reader. You have been warned.
In a society that is built almost completely on materialism and money, it is natural that a collapse will take the shape as being one that is primarily financial in nature.

Here's where I disagree with a lot of people.  Our economic sickness is not the disease.  It is a symptom.

Remember the three-year-old's question and ultimate problem solving tool...The incessant and relentless use of the word "Why?"

The financial catastrophe that I believe is coming to America -and Western civilization in general- is only a symptom of her greater sickness.  Money, economic, and financial collapse is only the mucus and vomit by which the sickness in our society might be expelled.

If it is not expelled -or maybe even if it is- this sickness will be terminal.

Cultural and National Suicide

Here's an interesting turn of events.

Interesting like the horrible mangle of automobiles and tractor trailers my family saw on the highway some weeks back.
The federal government will pay $350,000 to a group of illegal immigrants and permit them to stay in the country pursuant to a settlement reached in a lawsuit they filed after they were arrested.
The immigrants claimed the government violated their constitutional rights (AP asks- Doesn't the Constitution legally cover -in theory- only American citizens and the American government???) when federal agents raided a “Latino” neighborhood in New Haven, Conn., in 2007. Their reward for refusing to obey American laws is the largest settlement ever in a case involving an immigration raid.
.....
According to the Yale Daily News, the non-citizens claimed ICE violated their rights under the Constitution. “In a 64-page complaint, three Yale Law School faculty members and four law students representing the immigrants allege that local, state and federal ICE officials violated the Fourth, Fifth and 10th Amendments by planning and executing the raids,” the newspaper reported at the time.  (AP- Why do certain people only care about "rights" when criminals are the "victims"?  What about firearms owners and those who want to keep their kids out of state-mandated medical care?  What about people who want to sell, buy, and drink raw milk?)
.....
Chris Crane, president of the union representing ICE employees, declared that the policy was a veritable “law enforcement nightmare.” “Any American concerned about immigration needs to brace themselves for what’s coming,” he warned. “This is just one of many new ICE policies in queue aimed at stopping the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws in the United States. Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the Administration is now implementing it through agency policy.”
(As an aside, I am seeing the same "agency policy" approach starting to be used by the government in its efforts to restrict the oil and gas industry...and you think gas is expensive now...)

I call myself a liberty advocate.  Some people would say I do not go far enough for "liberty", as I believe there are laws that a government (which, in many cases, could be a local militia, sheriff, state or federal government) should enforce, and enforce ruthlessly, every time, without exception.

Among other things, I truly believe incoming immigration should be extremely tightly controlled and restricted.   (It has been for much of American history.  I invite readers to compare America's decline with its changing immigration policies.  Immigration does have an effect.  We are a nation of immigrants.  Tightly regulated immigrants, until recently.)

I'll refrain, for the sake of not getting too far off course, from listing some of my other less-than-gentle cures for societal ills.  Maybe some other time...

There is no need or reason to take a productive nation -that is productive for a reason- and import millions of people with no intention of assimilating into our society and culture (what is left of it, that is).  America is/was prosperous for a reason, and anyone who tells you culture, freedom, and prosperity are not inextricably linked is blowing smoke.

It stands to reason that without the culture that made America (and the West in general) prosperous, there would have been no prosperity.  If we import, reward, and encourage third-world cultures to flourish in our nation, and in the larger scene, the West, I believe we will import third world habits and the corresponding societal/economic ills.

Yes, I believe a declining lack of freedom contributes to the decay of a nation and society.

Yes, I believe a large and all-powerful government is, by and large, a bad thing.

I also believe that it is willful ignorance, at best, that denies the relationship between culture, prosperity, freedom, and the quality of life in a nation and society.

A government that does not protect its nation's culture and its people's interests is completely worthless.

Even open-border, free-market advocates will, in my opinion, be forced to admit that in a "Great Society" nation that steals from the productive to give to anyone who asks, the unlimited importation of the government-dependent class will result in the rapid destruction of any semblance of market freedom.  This destruction will occur as the government desperately reaches out to do anything it can to maintain its grasp on power and legitimacy.

This is why I cannot accept free-market arguments for open borders.  Open borders, in the political-economic arrangement we have now, will hasten the collapse of whatever market freedom is left in America and the west.

I tire of hearing the quote about not learning from history and being doomed to repeat it, so I won't parrot it again here.

Yet here is another great culture (and, on a lower level, a nation that was once part of that culture), once again committing suicide -as all great cultures have- through multiculturalism, expansionism, and the willful and forced integration of non-compatible foreign cultures.

And you know what?

It has little to do with learning (or failing to learn) from history.  It has everything to do with human arrogance and pretending that "everyone is just like us".

All societies are not the same.  All cultures are not the same.  All peoples are not the same.

They will be though, when multiculturalism and governmental cowardice/incompetence reduces every nation and people in the world to the same third-world status.

Then, out of that mess, another great civilization will arise, assert itself, grow powerful, prosper, and eventually begin the same sad descent into obscurity that we are on now...

CPX Foxtrot

Command Post Exercise Foxtrot (CPX Foxtrot)
Discussion of the Hypothetical Use of an OpFor False Flag Attack as a FreeFor Line of Departure
Action Date: 9:00 PM EST on Friday, 24 Feb 2012
Execution Date: (Hypothetical)

IT IS AN IMPORTANT FACET OF THIS CPX THAT DISCUSSION OF THIS CPX AND ITS OBJECTIVES REMAIN PRIVATE, AS DEFINED BELOW, UNTIL THE ACTION DATE NOTED ABOVE.

Overview

Given the current escalating tensions with Iran, and the known history of enemies of liberty in escalating and prompting crises to the detriment of the American people, the possibility of a large-scale or widespread false-flag attack on Americans has become a subject of conversation in FreeFor. A growing theme among liberty oriented persons is as follows: Given that such a false-flag attack would represent a crime of unprecedented magnitude, perpetrated upon thousands of innocent people (perhaps millions if executed with a nuclear weapon of whatever scale), the various diverse and often opposing elements of FreeFor could agree that preventing such an event would be of the utmost importance. The conclusion, well-founded or not, of some informal discussions appears to be the use of such a false-flag event as a common trigger for further action.

The objective of this CPX, then, is to provide a context in which to discuss this approach to assist in disrupting any such false-flag attack which may already be in the planning stages, while simultaneously exercising the capability of the FreeFor to act in concert to execute a multi-phase distributed operation at varying levels of private and public visibility, and across boundaries of interest. In this CPX, the discussion of the merits of the use of such a false-flag attack as a hypothetical FreeFor line of departure for local action plans, without discussing those hypothetical action plans themselves, may accomplish these objectives in a nonviolent way which is non-actionable given the current legal environment.

Objectives

1. To explore the possibility, credibility and implications of a false-flag threat, including means by which an inadvertent self-sustaining chain reaction of hair-trigger events might be avoided in non-false-flag circumstances.

2. To act as a confidence-building exercise among all elements of FreeFor across areas of interest, including those remaining within the governmental establishment at all levels, by selecting objectives and implementation goals of the widest possible appeal and which pose the minimum element of risk to the FreeFor participants.

3. To assist the remaining elements of FreeFor within the governmental establishment at all levels to disrupt/expose a possible false-flag attack on Americans by causing the hostile (or rogue) planners to reorient to the implications of this CPX, thus causing increased internal chatter subject to traffic analysis or leakage, which, in turn, increases the risk of the false-flag operation to exposure and blowback if executed.

4. To preserve elements of FreeFor from prosecution by limiting discussion to non-actionable hypothetical discussions of the implications of this CPX.

5. To minimize the interpersonal conflict that often mars FreeFor exercises by using multiple veils of anonymity and a deliberate lack of central control or direction.

6. To demonstrate the capability of FreeFor for communications discipline by two communication phases, one prior to the action date, one after.

7. To preserve the anonymity of covert FreeFor participants by masking their activities and greater number within a larger volume of overt participation.

8. To thwart the desires and actions of OpFor hostiles to use the CPX for its own purposes.

9. To use the assets, desires and actions of OpFor hostiles to discover elements of their influence on and penetration of FreeFor.

10. To develop a model of FreeFor exercises which communicate information in a self-disciplined and self-propagating way using various media.

Definitions

Action Date: The date and time that a planned action is to be implemented. In particular, the action date of this CPX signals the transition of communications about this CPX from private to public means. See also Execution Date.

Covert Participants: FreeFor persons or elements which, for reasons of their own, wish to maintain anonymity.

Execution Date: The date and time at which an important event is to be executed. For the purposes of this CPX, the execution date is purely hypothetical. Within that hypothetical context, the execution date would be the date at which OpFor implements a false-flag attack, or such a false-flag attack is identified as such within a reasonable certainty.

FreeFor: Freedom Forces, which includes any person or group of persons, within or without government, interested in establishing, maintaining, or restoring the rightful place of government as the servant of natural persons along principles embodied in the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights, or other works which promote individual responsibility, liberty and freedom from coercive government, even if not those specific wordings.

Go Code: A pre-arranged signal or event which initiates action.

Hotline: An emergency communication path, whether secured or not, which remains covert prior to use, but which, once used, is likely to be suspect afterward.

Line of Departure: A pre-arranged location or set of circumstances from which operations transition from the preparation phase to the execution phase. Starting execution of a plan is known as "crossing the line of departure".

OpFor: Opposition Forces, typically those hostile elements in domestic or foreign governmental positions opposed to the objectives of FreeFor.

Overt Participants: FreeFor persons or elements which are already well-known to the governmental establishment, and who are taking on little additional risk by participating in this CPX during both the private and public phases.

Private Communication: Any and all exchanges of this CPX and discussions about it which remain limited to peer-to-peer or peer-to-peers (blast) email, voice and personal conversations. Specifically excluded from private communication as defined here are postings on the Internet, blogs, social networking sites, etc.

Public Communication: Any and all exchanges of this CPX and discussions about it using an unrestricted variety of communication media and channels, including, but not limited to, blogs, posted articles, advertisements, flyers, posters, etc.

Specific Actions Requested of Participants

1. Participate in widely disseminating the text of this CPX using communication channels and networks normal and customary to a given participant during the private communication phase as defined below.

2. Participate in widely disseminating the text of this CPX using communication channels and networks normal and customary to a given participant during the public communication phase as defined below.

3. Monitor, to the extent of the individual participant's capability, the emergence of the following, which may indicate potentially disruptive attempts by OpFor elements:

a. Any premature public dissemination of the text of this CPX prior to the action date, as defined below.
b. Any attempt by participants to generate interpersonal hostility or to act as provocateurs to goad creation, revelation or implementation of line of departure plans.
c. Any attempt by participants to transmit or encourage the transmission of the text of this CPX through hotline or other secure channels.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS CPX INVOLVES THE DISCUSSION OF THE IMPLICATION OF A FREEFOR CROSSING OF THE LINE OF DEPARTURE IN REACTION TO A FALSE FLAG ATTACK UPON AMERICANS, AND NOT THE PROMOTION OF SUCH A LINE OF DEPARTURE CROSSING.

Assumptions

1. That hostile elements within the governmental establishment, through various means of data collection and analysis, already have complete knowledge of this CPX. Accordingly, this CPX is structured in such a way that existing hostile knowledge is not only not harmful, but beneficial to the objectives of the CPX.

2. That these hostile elements desire to act in ways which will disrupt or discredit this CPX, including, but not limited to, provocateurs, misinformation, early triggering and initiation of interpersonal conflict.

3. That these hostile elements will seek to apply traffic analysis to the execution phases of this CPX to both discover previously unknown FreeFor linkages, or discover previously unknown covert participants or confirm suspected covert participants.

4. That FreeFor elements answer to no one, but instead apply their own judgment and discretion in taking or not taking any action. Accordingly, portions of this CPX written in the form of orders are merely suggested as recommendations for unified action.

Operational Principles

I. Phases

1. This CPX is divided into three phases:

a. A private communication phase prior to the action date and time.
b. A public communication phase after the action date and time.
c. A hypothetical execution phase which would commence after the implementation of a false-flag attack by OpFor upon Americans.

2. Although this CPX is assumed to be completely known to hostile forces from inception, division of the CPX into two communication phases allows FreeFor to demonstrate an understanding of communication discipline principles. This two-phase approach also provides multiple opportunities for hostiles to expose themselves through the initiation of early triggering in the private phase, or other disruptive activities in either phase, and in ways which can be detected and noted by FreeFor participants, overt and covert, through passive means and without centralized coordination.

3. The execution phase is purely hypothetical, and discussion of this phase by participants within the context of this CPX is restricted as detailed below for the protection of all FreeFor participants.

II. Private Communication Actions Prior to the Action Date.

1. During the private communication phase, overt participants are encouraged to communicate as widely as possible with other participants, overt or covert, about the content and implications of this CPX using only private communications. To deny hostiles additional information beyond that which they possess prior to this CPX, and for the protection of covert participants, these communications are to use only those linkages which are normal and customary for the participant. Hotline resources are to be specifically prohibited for this CPX in both phases.

2. The private communication phase is to be limited to communication means which lack permanence beyond the control of the individual participants, hostile recording, interception and storage excluded. Email, texting, handwritten notes, phone and personal conversations are examples of private communications. Blogging, tweeting, discussion with media, or posting of the CPX on social media sites, which have a public and stored nature, are specifically excluded during the private communication phase.

3. The sole exception to the use of public communications prior to the action date are teaser mentions of the CPX on public media, and then only by the single and complete phrase "CPX Foxtrot", with no other detail about the CPX content or intentions provided. Those persons inquiring about these mentions of "CPX Foxtrot" should be provided its content during the private communication phase if those persons are within the normal and customary sphere of influence for a given participant.

An example of a public mention during the private communication phase is a blogger or commenter posting text similar to the following:

"And be sure to participate in CPX Foxtrot."
"Remember, CPX Foxtrot is coming up."
"Are you ready for CPX Foxtrot? I am."

If a prospective participant then asks about details for the CPX, other participants should provide the prospect with the CPX using private communications if that prospect is within the normal and customary reach of the provider. If not, then an appropriate response would be:

"Thanks for asking about that. Ask someone you know about CPX Foxtrot. If they don't know, ask them to ask. When you get CPX Foxtrot, you will know why it has to be this way."

Examples of providing the text of this CPX to others within the normal or customary scope of FreeFor communications include:

"A friend sent this to me. It is an interesting concept that probably should be discussed further."
"I am concerned that this idea might have unintended negative consequences. Worth a read."

4. The lack of public storage of the CPX Foxtrot details during the private communication phase will assist in not only generating additional teaser interest in the CPX, but will also make it easier for specific covert FreeFor assets to identify potential hostile infiltrants during the private communication phase. If in doubt, don't post. Also, do not assist hostile traffic analysis by providing details of the CPX beyond those prospective participants with which you normally and customarily communicate. Avoid being ensnared by hostile fishing expeditions.

5. Prospective participants are to be treated with respect and encouraged. An "us-versus-them", or "clique" mentality is to be avoided at all times by all FreeFor participants. FreeFor participants are also encouraged to apply their own traffic analyses to identify potential hostile provocateurs attempting to disrupt the CPX through the incitement of interpersonal discord or discouragement of prospects.

6. During the private communication phase, the text of this CPX is to be distributed as text attachments (word-wrap off) where practical, or as inserted or printed text otherwise. Other file formats, such as PDFs or DOCs, contain tagging information which reveals personal information or transmits viruses.

7. Within these restrictions, then, during this phase the CPX should be distributed as widely as possible, encouraging the recipients to in turn widely distribute, in chain letter fashion, to ensure as large a participation as possible on the action date.

III. Public Communication Actions On or After the Action Date

1. All participants are encouraged to publicly post the CPX content simultaneously on the action date and time in as many media, blogs, etc. as possible. Original postings with the CPX content, or with the CPX text content attached where possible, are more desirable rather than chain-linking back to a single source blog.

2. During the public communication phase, exposure of the CPX content is encouraged on all communication forms without restriction, other than the hotlines as discussed previously, which are not to be used for the purposes of this CPX at any time. An intention is to create as wide a historical Internet footprint as possible, as well as expose means and personnel by which hostiles attempt to minimize this footprint over time.

3. During the public communication phase, this CPX can be distributed in any form or file format.

IV. Principles During Either Communication Phase

1. A critical component of this CPX is ongoing discussion by participants of the implications of this CPX during either communication phase. However, for the protection of the FreeFor participants, discussion of the execution phase is to be limited to hypothetical discussions of the political/other implications should FreeFor use an OpFor false-flag attack as a line of departure for other covert plans which may or may not be under development. Specifically prohibited as part of this CPX is the initiation, discussion or exploration of such plans. All participants should be alert for potential hostiles who may try to use this CPX to discover or incite specific planning for line of departure actions within the context of this CPX.

Examples of acceptable discussions within the context of this CPX include:

"Is OpFor planning a false-flag, and if so, would the possibility of that as a line of departure for FreeFor be likely to disrupt those plans?"
"How might OpFor use crossing of the line of departure to its own ends, and how might that be mitigated?"
"How might inadvertent triggering of the execution phase be avoided for legitimate emergencies?"
"What effect does the existence of CPX Foxtrot have on the police? On the military?"
"How might FreeFor identify a false-flag so that it can be used as a valid go-code? Would the rapid availability of "perfect knowledge" be a tipoff?"
"Does even the discussion of this CPX have a disruptive effect on OpFor?"
"What other CPXs might we develop to continue to disrupt OpFor?"
"What benefits does FreeFor derive from exercises like CPX Foxtrot and how can we amplify that effect?"
"Outside a false-flag attack by OpFor, what other signals might FreeFor pay attention to?"
"How can FreeFor overt participants use OpFor infiltration and disruption policies and procedures to assist hostiles in exposing themselves to covert FreeFor participants?"
"How can FreeFor use traffic analysis and other techniques to hamstring the actions of OpFor by making them depart from establish procedures and thus resort to error-prone improvised operations?"

Examples of unacceptable discussions within the context of this CPX include:

"What are you planning to do when crossing the line of departure?"
"What should I do when crossing the line of departure?"
"I know a guy/place where you can get X, Y, or Z illegal things to help implement this plan."
"Who do you know who might cross the line of departure?"

There is a certain amount of subjectivity as to the dividing line between acceptable discussions within the context of this CPX, and discussions which are specifically outside the context of this CPX. It is expected that OpFor will use provocateurs to attempt to goad participants into unacceptable discussions. CPX participants who stray beyond this imaginary line should be gently and respectfully encouraged to review the CPX. FreeFor participants who have been so admonished should exercise diligence in withdrawing to a suitable degree to illustrate their intentions, again, with due respect to all participants. In this way, we create an environment in which hostile provocateurs have ample opportunity to expose themselves, by violating either side of respectful admonishment.

Remember at all times, the discussion of the implications and practicality of a line of departure crossing in response to a false-flag is the topic of this CPX, not those line of departure plans themselves.

2. Participants are encouraged to remember that the rules of interpersonal conduct are merely for the purposes of this CPX, and that normal interpersonal squabbles are to continue unabated outside of this CPX.

3. Within the CPX itself, all participants should be alert to potential hostiles who insist on remaining outside its rules. Detection of potential hostiles who have infiltrated FreeFor is a key objective of this CPX as it uses OpFor's existing policies and personnel limitations to the benefit of FreeFor.

V. Ongoing Actions

1. Participants in CPX Foxtrot are encouraged to continue to promulgate this CPX and its discussions on an ongoing basis. There is no termination date.

2. Participants in CPX Foxtrot are encouraged to use the term "CPX Foxtrot" as a signal at any time in the future to crack through interpersonal squabbles when discussing the premise of this CPX, which is the hypothetical crossing of the FreeFor line of departure in response to a false-flag attack upon Americans by OpFor.

3. Participants in CPX Foxtrot are encouraged to use this template to generate their own CPXs in the future. An objective of this CPX is to improve upon the techniques employed here to inculcate and evolve, over time, a credible counterforce to unrestricted hostile action upon FreeFor.

Hypothetical Frequently Asked Questions About CPX Foxtrot

Q1. Why should this CPX be transmitted in text form?
A1. Simple text form is immune to transmission of viruses and other detrimental side-effects. In addition, simple text lacks any potential identifying information.

Q2. Why should this CPX not be transmitted using secure or hotline channels?
A2. Two reasons. First, to deny OpFor knowledge of the existence, nature or scope of such channels. Second, a common means to break encryption is to encourage the transmission of a known plaintext through a given secure channel, followed by comparison to the resulting ciphertext.

Q3. Why is the CPX divided into private and public communication phases?
A3. Several reasons. First, as a confidence builder and to generate a sense of esprit de corps among the participants. Second, to force OpFor to remain dormant during the private communication phase, or else risk exposing some of their covert assets. This alone requires that OpFor react to FreeFor initiative, causing elements of OpFor to recognize their lack of omnipotence which plants the seeds in their minds of the potential consequences of failure of false-flag missions. Finally, to assist in generating interest in this CPX by teaser mentions of "CPX Foxtrot" during the private communication phase without the text being publicly available until later in the private communication phase.

Q4. Why is it acceptable, or even desirable, to publicly mention "CPX Foxtrot" during the private communication phase?
A4. As mentioned above, to generate interest by teaser mentions.

Q5. Why is interpersonal conflict to be carefully monitored in the context of this CPX?
A5. A common OpFor disruptive tactic is to generate interpersonal conflict. However, to avoid exposing their assets, all participants, including OpFor elements, must maintain decorum, which once again forces OpFor to play by FreeFor rules.

Q6. Why was the false flag selected as the topic of this CPX?
A6. This topic was selected because of the timely current interest in potential false flag operations given the growing tensions with Iran.

Q7. Won't I be exposing my network of contacts by sending this CPX?
A7. OpFor has likely already mapped the normal network of contacts by each potential CPX participant. This CPX specifically requests participants to only send this CPX to those already in that participant's normal and customary FreeFor discussion paths, thus denying OpFor information about potential "emergency" communication paths.

Q8. Could this CPX be labeled as an anti-government conspiracy?
A8. Given the lack of attention to law, justice and ethics by elements of the government today, anything could be considered illegal. However, as long as the First Amendment is presumed to have any relevance, this CPX merely encourages participants to discuss the implications of a FreeFor crossing of the line of departure in response to a false flag, rather than encouraging participants to actually perform such actions. In fact, participants are specifically requested to forego the latter discussions in the context of this CPX as a means of detecting potential OpFor provocateurs.

Q9. Isn't this CPX equivalent to yelling "fire" in a crowded theater? Could it not trigger crazies in response to any perceived false flag?
A9. This CPX doesn't introduce the concept of crossing the line of departure in response to a false flag, it merely encourages the discussion of this concept, which already exists in the public space. One of the objectives of this CPX is to discuss potential unintended consequences of such a policy, and this is beneficial to reducing the possibility of such undesirable triggers. Stated differently, discussing the implications of yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is not the same thing as actually yelling "fire" in a crowded theater, nor is it encouraging anyone to do so.

Q10. During the private communication phase, is it acceptable to store this text on my website, and then link to that text in private emails?
A10. No. Storing this text on a web server makes it subject to being swept up by a search engine spider, and then appearing in search results. This would violate the intention of the private communication phase, which is to prevent search engines from reporting the full text of the CPX during this phase. Once the public communication phase begins, then this form of storage is an acceptable option.

Q11. If OpFor already has knowledge of this CPX and potential participants, what is to be gained by the private communication phase?
A11. As mentioned previously, to demonstrate, both to FreeFor and to OpFor, the capability to perform a decentralized operation as well as to provide an opportunity for interested covert elements of FreeFor to participate in uncovering OpFor moles.

Q12. If OpFor already has knowledge of the authors of this CPX, why keep their identities concealed?
A12. To minimize the negative effect of personality conflicts within FreeFor which might interfere with the success of this CPX.

Q13. Isn't the use of "OpFor" creating deliberate conflict with the government?
A13. This CPX is not anti-government. This CPX is, however, intended to disrupt the actions of intra-governmental or extra-governemental actors who exceed, or who might conspire to exceed, their lawful authority, while supporting those remaining elements of FreeFor within government who perform their duties within lawful bounds.

Q14. What if this CPX itself is a probing attempt by OpFor?
A14. As mentioned previously, it is presumed that OpFor already has knowledge of FreeFor participants, particularly those who are active on the Internet. However, no prospective participant should feel, or be made to feel, any obligation to participate. Instead, such passive, or covert, participants also serve a role by assisting in watching the progress and actions of other particpants and forming their own conclusions.

Q15. This CPX has some errors and portions could be written better. Should I improve it?
A15. No. One of the roles of some covert FreeFor participants is to detect at which nodes the CPX has been altered. If a participant chooses to pass the CPX text along, it should be done with no modifications. If it must be pasted into email, please paste from the first character through to the last, with no intervening comments inserted.

Easy Fixes...

So they're rioting and killing in Afghanistan over their holy book being burned, and the US government can't apologize enough.

Those Afghanis should see what is done in the name of art to mock Christianity over here.

I have an easy solution to all this though.  Really, really easy.

Pack up and leave.  Now.  Drop everything that is going on therre, pack up our gear, and leave.

Now.

Problem solved, and we can let Afghanistan be Afghanistan, just as it's been for thousands of years, before Soviets and Americans got it in their heads to "change" it.

While I'm on the subject of foreign affairs, about Netanyahu's recent attack on a US general who said attacking Iran wouldn't be prudent...

Screw you, Netanyahu.  How dare you criticize an American general for looking out for his troops and nation.  How dare you call him a tool of Iran.

What's he supposed to do, lick your shoes and wear an "Israel First" t-shirt?

How 'bout this, Bibi...

We take our "foreign aid" to you (what is it, like thirty billion plus per year?), and cut it off.  Now.

No more weapons.  No more troops.  No more ships.  No more money.  Nothing.

Oh yeah, and you can keep McCain and Lindsey Graham, and we'll send you John Hagee while we're at it, too.

We'd see

-rightfreakingnow-

how boisterous and bloodthirsty that teeny-tiny nation adrift in a sea of its enemies would continue to be without American money, might, and arms.

In both cases, we'd end up saving quite a bit of money, and some American blood, to boot.

Not a bad idea for a nation heading straight for financial ruin.

Wait Until It's over Food...

Rioting in Orlando.

Complete with armored, riot-gear clad cops.

Over what?

Wait for it...

...

Shoes.

That's right.  Wait until it's over something actually important, like food.

Are you ready for that?  Do you want to be in the riot that ensues when/if food shortages occur?

Really?

Morality- Objectivity and Fiction

I suppose one could draw various moral lessons from reading children's fiction, or from watching idealized absolute good vs. absolute evil movies.

Harry Potter never appealed to me though, and I refuse to support the filth coming out of Hollywood.

There might be more realistic and objective approaches to weighing actions and consequences, and looking for the terminus/endpoints of any given course of action.

Here

Are

A

Few

Examples

Of

Real

World

Consequences.

The world is nasty and cruel beyond all reason.  That merely is what it is; it is not "evil", it is just cold, hard, relentless nature.  Nature does not care one whit for the individual, for "rights", for abstract concepts.

Children's books do not reflect this in a meaningful and realistic manner.

The "bad guys" win.  A lot.  Then...they become the "good guys", as it turns out, as they write history, the bad guys didn't win, after all...

Completely pure, absolute good vs. absolute evil struggles do not exist in this world.

They just don't.

The next time you're tempted to consider a fictional movie or a fictional tale as a moral compass, stop.

Instead, consider the lessons that can be learned from the ignoble and horrifying deaths of solitary soldiers, buried alive in the mud, blown to pieces at random, or suffocated by poison gas in a war that was completely avoidable and utterly inevitable.

Consider the lessons to be learned by the deaths of thousands, if not millions, of families whose worst crime happened to be being peasants in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Consider the lessons to be gleaned from people going about their work in colonial America, who were tarred and feathered by their neighbors and townspeople for attempting to collect taxes for their duly established government.

Consider the lessons to be learned from slaveholding, black marketeering, smuggling, insurrectionist racists who established a new government by force of arms and bloodshed, and banned non-european immigration after they violently rebelled against their government.

There are a lot of real-life moral lessons out there for the learning.  None of them are easy or pretty.

Most of the worthwhile ones were written in innocent blood.  Most of the worthwhile ones involve normal, "good" people who lived their lives well up until the point where they were killed for no good reason other than because of where they lived or where they happened to be at a given time.

I'm not blasting fiction here; it serves a purpose to be sure.  I'm just saying that Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings hold little sway over me as opposed to Verdun, the lives of Beria and Kolchak, and the Holodomor, among other things.

MHG: Criminal or Hero?

(Another) "Libertarian" Perspective on History

Your thoughts on this piece?:

Why “Libertarian” Defenses of the Confederacy and “States’ Rights” are Incoherent

H/T to a friend for showing me this article.

I've now heard the words and concepts of "liberty" and "libertarianism" be used to make a case for and against state's rights, for and against the Constitution, for and against secession, for and against federal intervention in internal state affairs, as well as for and against both government and anarchy.

It seems to me that just about any worldview or creed can be (and has been) used either to condemn or condone just about anything.  Seems that just about any action (or inaction) can be either condoned or condemned by claiming "Moral High Ground" and one's "ism" of choice.

Sorta makes a feller want to throw all the "isms" out right out the door and just be, you know?

What would you call that worldview?

A More Truthful Version of the Gettysburg Address

Just awesome, if you ask me.  Quite a bit more truthful that the version I memorized as a teenager.

Read it closely, and compare to Mr. Lincoln's original.
Four score and seven years ago our fathers declared independence from the United Kingdom and then went on to form a loose confederation of independent states which was scrapped a few years later in favor of a somewhat more centralized federation of states. Some of our ancestors have been agitating since that time to further impose their values upon others, consolidate power and make the voluntary Union compulsory.

Now are are waged in a great war to centralize power and and gain economic and political benefits over Southerners, testing whether we can prevail on the battle-field and dominate the South for many generations to come. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that our vision of involuntary, centralized government might be forced upon others. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate, we can not consecrate, we can not hallow this ground. The men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have advanced through superior manpower, funding and supply of arms. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that from these dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain – that this involuntary union, under an unconstrained executive, shall have fewer freedoms and more centralized power – and that government in Washington, DC, by Northern elites, for their economic and political interests, shall not perish from the earth.

Irony of Ironies

The US, according to its intelligence chief, is supporting Al-Qaeda in Syria against al-Assad.

The irony is too much here.

Here are some quotes, along with some enlightening links for context:
"The leader of Al-Qaeda has voiced his support for the Syrian uprising. In an eight-minute video posted on Sunday on a jihadist website, Ayman al-Zawahri called on Muslims in Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan to aid the Syrian rebels."

"Washington and mainstream media insist the Syrian government is fighting against peaceful protesters."

This guy says otherwise.
"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has recently called for "friends of democratic Syria" to unite against the regime. And to convene on February 24th to work out ways to further squeeze the Assad regime and bring Syrian opposition groups inside and outside the country together."

Meanwhile, while the US doggedly pursues intervention in certain nations for "humanitarian reasons", the escalating genocide in South Africa is solidly ignored.

"Humanitarian intervention" is code for "the people we want to win are losing".  Remember the "humanitarian" intervention in Libya... and the lack of it when the Kurds the US encouraged to rise up against Saddam were slaughtered.

Now, there would seem to be some interesting currents running through the US' recent foreign policy moves.  On the one hand, the US is preparing for war with Iran, more or less on Israel's behalf.  On the other hand, the US is taking actions elsewhere that will ensure that the situation in the Middle East does nothing but continue to escalate.  Do folks think the new Egyptian and Libyan governments are friendly towards the US and Israel?  Do the same folks think what arises after regime change in Syria and Iran will be any different?

It's almost like the US, Israel, Al-Qaeda, Iran, Syria...it's almost like we're all marionettes, whirling around in patterns of ever-increasing speed and velocity, barely avoiding a catastrophic entanglement with each turn.

My take?

We're being played.  All of us.

Some questions to consider out loud or internally.

Who is going to benefit from all this, in the end?

Who is losing now?  Who will have lost in 20 years?

Who is winning?

Who is paying for it?  What will the return on their investment be?

And most importantly, what can you and I do about it?
